Custom Bit
We’ve done all kinds of custom web applications for businesses to handle customer management, sales, recurring billing, reporting, and calendaring.
Most of our customers have the same story — they started off using a hodge-podge of various tools and spreadsheets. Everything sort-of worked, but eventually it all started to fall apart. Employees either didn’t have access to what they needed, or they had access to way more then they should.
We create applications that put everything where it should be. Customers don’t get forgotten, employees can do exactly what they need and nothing more.
And you get reports on it all, to keep everything humming along like a well-oiled machine.
When it comes to mapping and location data, we’ve just about done it all.
We’ve integrated with mapping services to display fully interactive maps with custom location markers, allowing users to zoom, scroll, or search by an address or their current location to find your map markers.
We’ve built custom backends allowing our customers to add new markers on their maps easily. Just drag and drop new markers onto the map directly, or type in the street address and we’ll translate that into map coordinates.
One of our clients had a problem: Their agents needed to work in remote locations, entering data and uploading images to their web application, without internet access.
Using new HTML5 caching and local storage features, we built a tool that allows their employees to do just that — create multiple reports, attach hundreds of images to them, and sync it all with the server when they are back online.
There’s no special software to download or updates to distribute to everyone. It’s just a web application that works with or without internet access. Seamlessly.
Ruby is a dynamic, reflective, general-purpose object-oriented programming language. Translation: Ruby is our most basic tool for building your application. It’s super flexible, modern, and we love it.
jQuery is an open source JavaScript framework that drastically simplifies creating the code to implement user interface and dynamic functionality on your web application, thus saving you time and money.
Forget servers. Heroku is one of our platforms of choice for deploying your application. Heroku is a cloud platform as a service (PaaS) and, of course, supports our favorite language, Ruby.
Git is our source code management tool of choice. It allows us to keep track of every change we make to your application. The proper care of your intellectual property is paramount to us and Git helps make that happen.
